CIALIS contains the active ingredient tadalafil, classified as a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor.
This medication is prescribed for the treatment of adult males experiencing:
- Erectile Dysfunction: This condition impedes a man's ability to achieve or sustain an erection adequate for sexual intercourse. Clinical studies have demonstrated that CIALIS can significantly enhance erectile function in response to sexual arousal.
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: This is a condition characterized by the enlargement of the prostate gland, which can lead to troublesome urinary symptoms. CIALIS has the potential to enhance blood circulation, thereby alleviating symptoms like difficulties initiating urination and frequent urges to urinate.
Contraindications:
- You should not take CIALIS if you have a known allergy to tadalafil or any other components present in this medication.
- Do not use this medication if you are currently on nitrates for the treatment of chest pain.
- Individuals with severe heart conditions or those who have experienced a heart attack within the past 90 days should avoid this medication.
- If you have not well-controlled high blood pressure, do not take CIALIS.
Precautions before using CIALIS:
Inform your healthcare provider prior to taking CIALIS if you have a history of any of the following:
- Sickle cell anemia
- Multiple myeloma
- Any liver or kidney disorders
Please note that CIALIS is not approved for use by women or individuals under 18 years of age.
Your physician will determine the suitable dosage for you. The standard recommended dose for CIALIS is one 5 mg tablet once daily, taken at the same time each day. It can be ingested either with food or on an empty stomach.
Possible Side Effects:
As with all medications, CIALIS may lead to side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Commonly reported side effects include:
- Headaches
- Back pain
- Soreness in muscles
Serious adverse effects, albeit rare, may include:
- Sudden loss of vision
- Prolonged and painful erection lasting more than 4 hours
